Family and social service providers in the Top of the South have benefited from Tindall Foundation’s recent donation of $20,000 to community organisations in the region.
Following applications for funding, donations have been given to Crossroads Marlborough, Marlborough Family Budget Service, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Nelson Women’s Refuge, Nelson Community Toy Library, Male Room Incorporated, Nelson Women’s Support and Motueka Women’s Support Link.
The applications for funding demonstrated a huge need in the community for assistance with services that support child and youth development, and help families impacted by domestic violence, addiction, homelessness and debt.
The funding is allocated from Tindall Foundation’s “Supporting Families and Social Services” programme. This programme supports Tindall Foundation’s belief that strong family units and connected communities form the cornerstones of a thriving successful Aotearoa New Zealand. More than half of annual donations from Tindall Foundation are budgeted to community organisations that support families and provide social services.
Tindall Foundation relies on contribution of Top of the South Community Foundation to distribute donations on their behalf directly to the local communities in which we work. This model is a very effective way of giving money across the country because Funding Managers have knowledge of, and relationships with their communities and know which organisations can make the greatest difference with Tindall Foundation funds.
