Lake Rotoiti Outdoor Education Trust Fund

Providing outdoor education experiences for New Zealand students

About the fund

Lake Rotoiti Outdoor Education Trust has established a Community Group Fund with the Top of the South Community Foundation to ensure long term affordable access to outdoor education for generations to come.

Lake Rotoiti Outdoor Education Trust operates Rotoiti Lodge Outdoor Education Centre, located in Nelson Lakes National Park. For over 50 years, we have provided outstanding outdoor education experiences for students from across New Zealand.

Students visiting Rotoiti Lodge build confidence and resilience while learning valuable outdoor skills - from water safety to shelter building. Through these experiences, students are encouraged to test their limits and immerse themselves in nature.

Whether on the water or in the hills, we teach skills for life that cannot be learnt in a classroom. When not in use by schools, our lodge welcomes community, iwi and youth groups, providing a welcoming space for people to gather and enjoy the beauty of Nelson Lakes National Park.
