New EO - Nettie Stow
1 September, 2023

Tēnā koutou, greetings to all.

The first few weeks in my role as EO have flown by. I am grateful for the warm welcome, the incredible support and patience as I learn the ropes, and the enthusiasm shown by everyone for this amazing kaupapa.
My current focus is building on the excellent work Gavin and the team achieved during his time as EO. It’s a strong foundation that will support our future growth.
Personal highlights so far include the allocation of funds from the TOTSCF 2023 grants round. I was impressed by the quality of applications from our community and inspired and humbled by the generosity of our donors who made this possible .
I was lucky the timing of my arrival allowed me to attend The Tindall Foundation biannual workshop to learn more about our work as local distributors of their Family and Environment funds and their commitment to the Community Foundation model.
And finally preparing for Wills Month – an important month for all Community Foundations and an awesome way to support us if you are able to share this news within your own communities.
I look forward to meeting with you in the near future – our AGM might be the perfect opportunity if you can make it!     If not, please do not hesitate to contact me– I’m keen to connect and hear your thoughts and ideas.

It’s easy to give and get (your tax) back

Giving to local causes can go even further than you might realise. In Aotearoa, donations to registered charities are eligible for a 33 percent tax credit, up to the amount of tax you’ve paid. That means you can claim back a third of your gift, putting more support behind the people, projects, and places you care about in Te Tauihu. It’s a simple way to make generosity work harder, while keeping your giving local.
