Spreading kindness through the simple act of baking
13 December, 2024

A grant from TSCF played a crucial role in supporting Good Bitches Baking Trust (GBBT).  The 72 volunteers in the Nelson/Tasman region baked over 1000 boxes of homemade treats that were shared with people experiencing tough times in the community.

The impact of this gesture can be profound, especially as the cost of living continues to rise. Recipients report that receiving a box of home-baked goods helps people feel connected to their community and can provide a sense of belonging during difficult times. The treats also have practical benefits, stretching tight budgets, enabling difficult conversations, supporting cultural practices, making children smile, and alleviating the pressures on staff and volunteers.

Thank you to our donors for supporting these lasting and meaningful impacts on individuals and communities.
