Applications Now Open for the October 2025 Grant Round!

Applications are now open for the Top of the South Community Foundation’s October Grant Round, offering funding to charitable organisations supporting vulnerable and underprivileged families across Nelson Tasman.

This round is funded through the Goldman Sachs Gives Fund — the largest fund managed by TSCF — and is dedicated to helping families experiencing financial or social hardship. Grants of up to $10,000 are available, including four multi-year grants of $10,000 per year for two years.

Who Can Apply

The fund is open to:

  • Charitable trusts or community organisations, or those applying through a charitable trust fundholder
  • Groups based in, or providing direct services within, Nelson Tasman
  • Organisations that deliver tangible, direct support to families or individuals in need

Preference may be given to smaller community organisations with limited access to other funding sources.

What the Fund Supports

The Goldman Sachs Gives Fund focuses on projects and services addressing key challenges faced by families and individuals in our region, including:

  • Financial hardship
  • Housing insecurity
  • Health challenges (mental, physical, or disability-related)
  • Social isolation
  • Educational disadvantage
  • Cultural exclusion (Māori, Pacific, migrant and other underserved communities)
  • Intergenerational hardship
  • Domestic violence
  • Refugee resettlement

Key Dates

  • Applications open: 1 October 2025
  • Applications close: 31 October 2025
  • Decisions announced: Late November
  • Grants distributed: By the end of December
