Introducing the new TSCF Professional Advisor Network
1 May, 2026
Last night, we gathered a room full of lawyers, accountants, bankers and financial planning professionals at Bowater Toyota in Nelson — and officially launched something we’ve been working toward for some time. The TSCF Professional Advisor Network is here.
What is the Professional Advisor Network?
The Professional Advisor Network (PAN) connects professional advisors across the Top of the South with the Foundation — so that when their clients want to give back to the community they love, there’s a trusted local partner ready to help them do it well, locally, and with lasting impact.
Whether they’re helping a client with a will, an estate plan, a business sale, or retirement planning — advisors are often the first person to hear about a client’s wish to give back. The PAN gives those advisors the tools, the knowledge, and the support to make that conversation happen. And to make sure the result is something lasting.
We work alongside advisors to support their client relationships — never to replace them. TSCF brings the philanthropic expertise and local knowledge. Advisors bring the trust their clients have placed in them over many years.
Why now?
New Zealand is in the early stages of the largest intergenerational wealth transfer in our history. According to BERL, those born before 1966 currently hold 60% of New Zealand’s total individual net wealth — and an estimated $1.1 trillion of that will transfer between generations over the next 20 years.
Right now, only 1.3% of inheritances in New Zealand find their way to charitable causes — significantly lower than the United States and the United Kingdom. That represents an enormous opportunity for communities like ours.
Professional advisors are at the centre of every one of those conversations. The PAN ensures that when they happen, Te Tauihu has a seat at the table.
A word from our guest speaker
We were honoured to have Josh Hickford FCA, CMInstD — Chief Executive of Taranaki Foundation, CA ANZ Councillor, and Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors — join us as our guest speaker for the evening.
Josh shared how professional advisors across Aotearoa and Australia are already becoming catalysts for extraordinary community impact — and how that same potential exists right here in Te Tauihu. His message stayed with the room:
“The advisors who love where they live are the ones who change it.”

What does the network offer?
Members of the Professional Advisor Network have access to a dedicated suite of resources, including:
Raising charitable giving with clients can deepen relationships and create something truly lasting. These resources are designed to make that easier — and to ensure every gift is personal, meaningful, and enduring.
Join the network
If you’re a professional advisor in the Top of the South and you’d like to join the network, we’d love to hear from you. And if you know someone who might be interested, please pass this on.
Because when people give where they live, the impact is real. You can see it, feel it, and know that your community is stronger for it.
